A 3 part article. In part 1 we go in depth with Jeff Johannes, the only person on this trip who still has to care about how he dresses to the opposite sex. In part 2 our editors discuss some of the most intriguing golf footwear brands and what they say about the person wearing them. And we'll close with part 3 and a heavy dose of apparel brands.
Part 1 - Jeff Johannes Interview
CC: Jeff, tell me how you got so into trendy fashion.
JJ: Well, Chris, can I call you Chris?
CC: My friends call me Cruz.
JJ: It all started with puberty and a pair of JNCO Jeans, and I've just evolved with the times ever since. But sometimes, I miss the feel of those JNCO wide leg wonders.
CC: Totally understandable.
CC: What would you say your style is today and how do you achieve it?
JJ: I'd call my overall fashion sense, trendy chameleon. I adapt, but keep my own sense of style and more importantly fit and cut for peacocking reasons, as you can understand.
CC: Yeah I remember those days, give me an example.
JJ: Well if I'm going to an outdoor country music festival. I'll wear a stetson but probably a Felt one, In a golf tournament, I like shorter and tighter sleeves to show off my guns. So I conform to the general vibe, but give it a spin all my own.
CC: What fashion trends are starting to go away in your opinion?
JJ: Well speaking of felt stetsons, a lot of people think of 2020-2021 as the pandemic years. I like to think of them as the HATdemic years. Felt Fedora's and Stetsons for days. I've recently taken a slight step off that train to show off more of my fresh fades, even at outdoor music festivals.
CC: What do you do for Halloween?
JJ: I make my own costumes. I like to iron and do the finishings myself. Theres actually a famous photo of me "finishing my costume" in 2015
CC: I do remember #jjmakeshiscostume trending back in 2015
CC: What are your favorite Brands today on and off the golf course?
JJ: Off the course, Vuori, Duvin, ASRV, All Saints, Roark, and Cuts, those tee shirts make me look swol. On the course, G/Fore, Bad Birdie, Vice
CC: Thanks Jeff for your time, I look forward to seeing your outfit scripting for this years OBI and good luck!
JJ: Thanks Bruh.
